It sounds like the usual pre-adolescent whining. In truth, it was prescience.

Dear Diary,
Dad said it wasn’t called snooping when a parent looks through a CHILD’S personal things to find about his private life. He said he had a right to look through my diary. No matter what you call it, no matter what excuse you use, it is still snooping. At least he hasn’t found my diary yet. I hope. My diary is my private place to read and write. It’s like if he wanted to see my boobs just because he’s my dad. Children are people. Children have rights, feelings, and a need for privacy. It’s like I’m his plaything who has no rights whatsoever. Doesn’t he understand I’m growing up, I need privacy? John or Mommy won’t listen. My diary is mine.
