If only it was just about whether I could have my ears pierced, instead of his assertions of control.

Dear Diary,
I hate the way Dad just stands in the hall then strolls into someone’s room and starts snooping. And the way he says I have no right to lock my door!! I have every right! And the way he acts like he owns me! NO ONE OWNS ME. Not a soul. He said I will never have my ears pierced as long as I live under his roof. He said it in a way that means business. THEN he had the nerve to say my husband could decide if I could have my ears pierced.
